About
I’m Sean Fitzmartin, a senior product designer at Meta in Seattle, working on the buying experience across Instagram and Facebook Shops.
For nine years I’ve gravitated toward the same kind of problem: complex, high-stakes surfaces where millions of people are trying to get something done — checking out, joining a call, finding their next game. The craft I care about is making those moments feel obvious, and the discipline I care about is proving they got better.
Outside of work I take photos, get outside, and build slightly too many Legos.

How I Work
Outcomes, not artifacts
A design isn’t done when the mockup is polished; it’s done when the metric moves. I run my work as experiments, hold myself to the results, and treat a negative readout as diagnostic data rather than a failure.
Prototype the argument
Working software is more persuasive than a deck. I frame problems with Claude, build real prototypes in Cursor and Claude Code on production components, and use Figma for systems and polish.
Own it end to end
The best projects I’ve shipped had no PM at the start — I wrote the brief, worked the legal reviews, and carried it through launch. Scope is something you take, not something you’re given.
